President of Iran Hassan Rouhani has met with Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin, Tasnimnews reported.
During the meeting Rouhani said that there are friendly relations between Iran and Russia and they are based on ancient history.
"We should raise our relations to a higher level and to develop them comprehensively," Rouhani said.
According to Rouhani, Iran and Russia have common interests in the Middle East and other regions. Iran and Russia should work out a long-term program for the development of relations.
In turn, Rogozin conveyed the greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin to his counterpart and pointed out that Russian president is interested in the development of relations with Iran.
