President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev has today inspected construction and remodeling at the military town of the Special State Security Service, and attended the opening of the sports complex of the Service.
The Head of State laid flowers at a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev at the town.
President Ilham Aliyev then viewed the activity of the Situation Center of the Special State Security Service.
The Head of State was informed about the construction and remodeling carried out at the camp.
Communication lines in the territory of the military camp were renewed, and the old buildings in the territory were replaced by new ones.
The two newly built five-storey buildings were provided with all necessary conditions.
The football ground also was reconstructed at the military camp, and was provided with necessary sports equipment.
The Head of State then cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the sports complex of the Special State Security Service.
National leader Heydar Aliyev's bas-relief and a photo stand reflecting the attention of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to the development of the sports and Olympic movement in the country were installed at the complex.
Chief of the Special State Security Service Vagif Akhundov told the Head of State that the sports complex, which occupies a total area of 8,000 square meters, was provided with all necessary conditions to do all types of sports.
The complex has a state-of-the-art swimming pool.
The Head of State viewed the uniforms and equipment of the staff of the Special State Security Service.
The complex has a medical facility which was provided with modern equipment.
President Ilham Aliyev was informed that the gym at the complex was provided with modern sports equipment.
The complex also has a 360-seat gym for holding basketball, volleyball, and other sports competitions.
Head of State, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev then met the staff of the Special State Security Service.
Chief of the Special State Security Service Vagif Akhundov thanked the Head of State on behalf of the staff of the Service.
