Azerbaijani embassy in Iraq is expected to be opened in 2014, Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan, Heydar al-Barrak told journalists on Jan. 21.

The diplomat said Azerbaijan is interested in opening the embassy.

"However, this process will take time. We hope that it will happen this year," al-Barrak added.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Iraq in 2013 amounted to $354.19 million, according to Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee (SCC).

A significant part of this volume accounts for the goods exported to Iraq amounting to $353.64 million. Azerbaijan imported Iraqi products worth $0.55 million.
