Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused the U.S. of supporting Fethullah Gulen [Islamic social activist who currently resides in the U.S.], website of Al JazeeraTurk TV channel said on Feb.25.
This was stated by the Turkish prime minister during a phone conversation with the U.S. President Barack Obama.
Earlier, Erdogan called Gulen's movement a 'parallel structure'.
"The parallel structure makes every effort to implement its insidious purpose in the country," Erdogan said.
The Turkish prime minister also called on supporters of Gulen to create a party for conducting a political struggle in a democratic way.
Additionally, it was earlier reported that the member of the Council of the ruling Justice and Development Party of the country, Mazhar Bagli said that the actions of Gulen and his supporters are aimed at undermining the country's national interests.
