By Sabina Ahmadova - Trend:

Both governmental and non-governmental organizations work on the human rights sphere in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister, Araz Azimov told journalists on Mar. 3 commenting on the paragraphs about Azerbaijan in the U.S. Department of State report on Human Rights.

The government has enough mechanisms for cooperation with NGOs, he said.

Azimov noted that the government studies, evaluates the articles on Azerbaijan listed in the report, however, it is not worth exaggerating the issue.

Theoretical forms can be proposed anywhere, some artificial criteria can be created. However, in any case, it is necessary to take into account the realities both on human rights and economic issues, he said.

Furthermore, the sources preparing these reports also should be considered as they can not always be objective, according to Azimov.
