Head of the Turkish Republican People's Party Kemal Kılıcdaroglu said following the municipal elections that the party members fear the beginning of political repression in the country, the Turkish TRT Haber channel reported on March 31.

The voter turnout in the municipal elections testifies to the fact that the Turkish people are politically developed.

He also stressed that Turkey won these elections.

"The Turkish opposition Republican People's Party has not achieved the expected results in the municipal elections," he added.

The municipal election was held in Turkey on March 30. As a result, the ruling Justice and Development Party won by getting 45.6 percent of votes.

The number of registered voters in Turkey is 52,695,831 people. Out of them, some 26,704,757 people are women and 25,991,750 people are men.

Some 194,310 ballot boxes were installed throughout the country. Some 26 political parties participated in the municipal elections.
