Supporters of the idea of Ukraine's federalization have the building of the regional administration in the city of Kharkov, in Eastern Ukraine, local media report on Sunday, ITAR-TASS reported.
It took the protesters about ten minutes to shove back law enforcers, who were safeguarding the entrance to the building, and get inside.
Now, one of the activists is holding a Russian flag from a window on the second floor, where the governor's office is located. Protesters are chanting, "The police are with the people." Some of the policemen stepped aside.
About 2,000 people gathered in Kharkov's central Freedom Square late on Sunday to "support Donetsk and Lugansk, where protesters seized administrative buildings earlier in the day," . More people are coming to the square. Participants are carrying flags of Russia, the former Soviet Union and the Ukrainian Soviet Republic. They are chanting "Russia."
