The cooperation among Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Turkey will play an important role as a bridge between Asia and Europe, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov said at a press conference following the meeting of Azerbaijani, Turkish and Turkmen foreign ministers on May 26.
"The talks were held at a high level," he said. "The sides discussed relevant issues of bilateral and trilateral relations."
The important issues for future cooperation were discussed at the trilateral meeting.
"Special attention was paid to the cooperation in the energy sector, Meredov said. "Another topic of the talks was regional security issues."
Such meeting between the high-ranking representatives of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Turkey is held for the first time. Next meeting is scheduled to be held in Turkmen capital of Ashgabat.
Similar formats of meetings between Azerbaijan-Turkey-Georgia and Azerbaijani-Turkey-Iran have already been created, followed by the summits of the foreign ministers and presidents of these countries.
