Human rights activist Leyla Yunusova had the opportunity to see concrete results of her actions, Azerbaijani MP Fazail Agamali told Trend on July 31.

He was commenting on the arrest of director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy, human rights activist Leyla Yunusova.

Agamali has a positive attitude to this situation.

"Yesterday's statements show that a criminal case was filed against Yunusova under several articles of the Criminal Code," he said. The concrete measures must be taken and have been taken against her for inappropriate actions and her relations with the Armenian lobby as part of the laws of Azerbaijan."

"Everyone, regardless of the position and place in the society, must be responsible for the misdeeds before the law," he added.

Director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy, human rights activist Leyla Yunusova and her husband Arif Yunusov were charged with high treason, Yunusova's lawyer Javad Javadov told Trend earlier.

Leyla Yunusova is charged under four articles of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic - 274 (high treason), 178 (fraud), 213 (tax evasion), 192 (illegal business), Arif Yunusov charged under two articles of the Criminal Code - 274 (high treason) and 178 (fraud).
