After the victory of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the presidential election, the country will even more strengthen its relations with Azerbaijan, Mazhar Bagli, a member of the Council of the country's ruling Justice and Development Party told Trend Aug.11.

He underscored that Azerbaijan is one of the most important countries for Turkey.

"Azerbaijan's problems are Turkey's problems and Azerbaijan's success is Turkey's success," Bagli said.

Erdogan previously stated that he pays special attention to the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations, according to Bagli.

The voter turnout in Turkey's presidential election stood at 75 percent. The term of office of Turkey's acting President Abdullah Gul will end Aug.28.
