President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Defense Minister of the Republic of Serbia Bratislav Gasic.

Saying that Azerbaijani-Serbian relations have developed in various areas, the head of state stressed the importance of high-level reciprocal visits in terms of the expansion of these ties.

Touching upon the development of relations in the defense area, President Ilham Aliyev underlined the significance of talks on cooperation prospects on this front.

Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic said: "Mr. President, I am very pleased to meet with you, one of the biggest friends of Serbia."

The minister conveyed greetings on behalf of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to the head of state.

Speaking about the development of Azerbaijani-Serbian relations, Bratislav Gasic said the ties between the two countries had never been at such a high level. He expressed his confidence that the relations between the two countries will be successfully developing further.

The head of state thanked for the greetings of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and asked Bratislav Gasic to communicate his greetings to the president and prime minister of Serbia.
