A high-ranking Azerbaijani official has recently said that the country was informed on the previous 'special ties' and ambitions of Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt.

Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Deputy Head and Director of Administration's Foreign Relations Department, Novruz Mammadov tweeted several messages regarding the issue on Sept. 12.

"Therefore we've been saying look at who forms an opinion about us," he wrote.

It should be noted that Sweden's foreign minister has unreasonably criticized Azerbaijan several times.

"According to Aftonbladet newspaper, one has to build 'special ties' with him, in order not to be criticized," Mammadov added.

Note, a scandal occurred in Sweden, when the Aftonbladet newspaper accused the country's Foreign Minister Carl Bildt of corruption and self-interested lobbying for the former Georgian leadership.

Journalists claim they have documents proving that a PR firm which has ties to Bildt, received over $3 million from the former Georgian authorities to improve former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili's image in Europe.
