Azerbaijan is a wonderful country and Baku is a very beautiful city, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovsky told reporters in Baku on Sept.26.
Zhirinovsky said this was his first time in Azerbaijan, he has never been in the country before.
"I have the best impressions - a wonderful country, a great leader," he said.
Zhirinovsky said it is great that the Russian language has been preserved in Azerbaijan at this level and urged for more Russian schools in the country.
The Russian politician visited the gymnasium No.23 in Baku on Sept.26.
During the visit, Zhirinovsky is expected to meet with Azerbaijani officials, and see the sights of Baku.
