Azerbaijan is the most important friend and ally of Russia, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovsky said in Baku on Sept.27.
Zhirinovsky, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, paid tribute to the cherished memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, architect and founder of modern independent Azerbaijani state, Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor and laid a wreath at the grave of the national leader.
The Russian politician also paid tribute to the memory of the outstanding ophthalmologist and scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva and laid flowers at the grave of the academician.
Zhirinovsky then visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country's independence and territorial integrity.
He laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
The Russian politician visited the gymnasium No.23 in Baku and spoke before the students of the Baku Slavic University on Sept.26.
