There is a great potential for the development of Azerbaijan-Vietnam relations, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam, a permanent member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Le Hong Anh said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, the Azerbaijani foreign ministry reports.
Mammadyarov expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of bilateral relations. He said that the Azerbaijani president's recent visit gave an impetus to the development of bilateral relations.
"President Aliyev's visit to Vietnam made a significant contribution in Azerbaijan-Vietnam relations," Le Hong Anh said. "There is a great potential for development."
He also said that the countries are successfully cooperating in some areas, especially as part of the international organizations.
Mammadyarov also informed the guest about the negotiation process on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He stressed the need to withdraw the Armenian armed forces from the occupied territories.
Other issues were also discussed at the meeting.
