Azerbaijani Interior Ministry to take measures on upcoming municipal election

There is no force that can disrupt the work of electoral commissions in Azerbaijan, but if such attempts occur, they will be strongly suppressed, the deputy Interior Minister Oruj Zalov said Oct.17.

He made the remarks at the meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the chairmen of district election commissions (DEC) on the theme "The duties of the local executive bodies in preparation and conduction of election and their joint activity with the election commissions".

The ministry of internal affairs of Azerbaijan will take a number of relevant measures in connection with the upcoming municipal election in the country, Zalov said.

He also said that it is planned to hold events in order to improve the vigilance of law enforcement officials, expand the interaction with the executive authorities.

The deputy minister said that bodies of internal affairs of Azerbaijan will shift to enhanced mode in view of the upcoming municipal election.

Zalov said that the police bodies will be fully prepared to respond to the calls of electoral commissions until the last voting paper.

Municipal election in Azerbaijan is scheduled for December 2014.
