Azerbaijanis have always had fraternal relations with the Jews, Israel's ambassador Rafael Harpaz said at a meeting with the chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Mubariz Gurbanli Oct. 22, the ministry reported.
He said that the Jews have never faced problems in Azerbaijan on religious or ethnic grounds.
It was stressed during the meeting that the relations between Azerbaijan and Israel have historical roots and these relations continue today.
The ambassador expressed his satisfaction with the attention paid to the Jews in Azerbaijan, a high level of relations between the state and religion.
During the meeting, the need was stressed to preserve and develop the existing relations and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel.
