French newspaper apologizes for distorted information about FC "Karabakh"

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry instructed the Azerbaijani embassy in France to undertake the necessary measures to investigate the incident due to publishing misinformation regarding the Azerbaijani football club "Karabakh", which was published in French newspaper "L'Equipe".

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry instructed the Azerbaijani embassy in France to undertake the necessary measures to investigate the incident due to publishing distorted information regarding the Azerbaijani football club "Karabakh", which was published in French newspaper "L'Equipe".

Acting head of the press-service of Foreign Ministry Hikmet Hajiyev told reporters on Nov. 9.

According to him, the Azerbaijani embassy in France has raised the issue to chief editor Fabrice Jouhaud.

The chief editor of newspaper "L'Equipe" recognized that this material is an unfortunate mistake and apologized to the Azerbaijani people and the fans of the club "Karabakh". He also noted that this mistake was fixed.

On Nov 6. French newspaper "L'Equipe" published an article in which the Azerbaijani club "Karabakh" was presented as Armenian.
