Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the UK Tahir Taghizadeh today presented his credentials to Queen Elizabeth II.

During the event, Taghizadeh conveyed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's sincere greetings to the Queen, according to a message from the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the UK.

The ambassador said the relations between Azerbaijan and the UK are developing incrementally, emphasizing that he will make every effort to strengthen cooperation.

Queen Elizabeth II, for her part, wished the ambassador success in his work and thanked him for the greetings, and asked to convey her greetings and best wishes to the Azerbaijani president.

The Queen expressed confidence that the dynamic partnership between the UK and Azerbaijan will further develop.

The reception, held on the occasion of presenting the credentials, was attended by the ambassadors of several countries in London, members of the House of Lords, representatives of diplomatic corps, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and public figures.

During the event, the HM Marshal of Diplomatic Corps Alistair Harrison wished success to the new ambassador and expressed confidence that the relations between the two countries will develop in the future.

Ambassador Taghizadeh, for his part, said the two countries are partners, and Azerbaijan is interested in developing relations with Britain.

Taghizadeh also said he will seek to deepen cooperation, adding that along with power industry, there is great potential for development of relations in education, healthcare, finance, tourism, and the information and communication technologies.
