Azerbaijan, Serbia to mull Interparliamentary co-op

The prospects for the Interparliamentary cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia will be discussed with the chairman of Serbian National Assembly (parliament) Maja Gojkovic in Baku, a diplomatic source told Trend on Nov.27.

The source said the exact date of the visit is being determined through diplomatic channels.

During the visit, Gojkovic will hold meetings in the Milli Majlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan and in the country's government to discuss the development of bilateral relations in political, economic and humanitarian spheres, according to the source.

Serbia and Azerbaijan are strategic partners with the dynamically developing bilateral relations. The legal framework between the two countries covers nearly 30 agreements that determine the framework for the bilateral cooperation at various levels.

The projects in the spheres of construction, education, tourism and infrastructure are the priorities of the trade and economic cooperation.

Moreover, it is worth to note the operation of Azerbaijan-Serbia intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

The trade turnover between the two countries stood at $3.07 million in Jan.-Oct. 2014, according to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
