Armenia’s policy – a strike with a blunt object

Azerbaijan and Armenia - what is the difference between these two South Caucasus countries for Europe and the US? The difference may be in the fact that Armenia is an occupant and an aggressor, while Azerbaijan has been suffering from this aggression for over 20 years.

However, as the history shows, that's not important for the West.

As it turns out, the processes going on in the countries' civil societies, are also seen by the West through various prisms.

In the past few days, about a dozen of cars of civil activists opposing the regime in Armenia have been burnt. Aside from that, there was an attempt to murder Gevorg Safaryan, the activist of the oppositional organization known as the Pre-Parliament.

Safaryan said he was hit in the head with a blunt object. He received a brain concussion as a result of the attack.

However, the most dangerous blunt object, currently used by the Armenian authorities against the civil society, is its policy, both domestic and foreign. Using this object, the Armenian authorities try to destroy the sprouts of the civil confrontation.

And although, this story is no longer a mystery for anyone, there arises another question.

Why the US and Europe, which care for the rights of civil society in other countries, are silent when there is an attempt to kill oppositionists in Yerevan, or burn their cars? They don't care about the domestic political situation in Armenia, the persecutions and actual repressions.

A reaction is gaining an upper hand in Armenia. No one disputes this. But how does the West react to this? It doesn't.

Today, the West behaves like a woman, who doesn't know what she wants.
