Regrettably, Islam has become a key issue of international political agenda due to the processes associated with the terrorist act on Charlie Hebdo, the Deputy Head of Azerbaijan's Presidential Administration, the Chief of the Administration's Foreign Relations Department, Novruz Mammadov tweeted on Jan.19.

"Apparently, some circles in the EU failed to understand how perilous this process is. Really?!" Mammadov wrote.

New cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed have been published in the media of France and several other countries in recent days.

Following the publishing of these cartoons, Islamists attacked the office of French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo magazine on Jan.7. Some 12 people - 9 employees of the magazine and two police officers guarding the building - were killed and 11 more were injured as a result of this attack.
