Baku doesn’t consider relations between Azerbaijan, US strained

Baku doesn't consider the relations between Azerbaijan and the US as strained, Ali Hasanov, the Head of the Public and Political Issues Department of Azerbaijan's Presidential Administration, told reporters on Feb.12.

He said that separate experts, human rights organizations or individual centers can have their own opinion on various issues.

"But the cooperation continues between Azerbaijan and the US in economic, political, social and other areas," he said.

"The cooperation wasn't suspended in international peacekeeping, in fighting terrorism, in international energy security, joint creation of transnational transport and communication corridors on the Caspian Sea and the South Caucasus and other issues," said Hasanov.

He further said certain circles are trying to aggravate these relations, from time to time publishing negative articles about Azerbaijan in the US media.

Hasanov added that as a rule, these articles don't reflect reality, being prepared and distributed by the order of individual centers wishing to spoil the bilateral relations.

"We are trying to stop this and believe that the US government is also the same making efforts," said Hasanov.
