Azerbaijan's independent policy bothers some circles trying to influence the country, Azerbaijani MP Aydin Mirzazade told Trend Feb. 14.
Mirzazade was commenting on former ambassador's statements at the recent hearings in the US Congress.
Mirzazade said that former US ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Kauzlarich's active anti-Azerbaijani activity has recently attracted attention.
"It seems that Kauzlarich is trying to play the role of an organizer of the crusade against Azerbaijan," he said.
Mirzazade said that Kauzlarich calls for imposing the sanctions against Azerbaijan.
"I wonder whether his activity in Azerbaijan has also relied on these principles," Mirzazade said.
Mirzazade said that such efforts constantly fail, as there are certain forces and politicians in the US respecting the relations with Azerbaijan by appreciating the development of democracy in the country.
