President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of European Council Donald Tusk held a joint press conference in Baku on July 22.
President Ilham Aliyev welcomed Donald Tusk, saying "his visit is very important for the EU and Azerbaijan relations.
Noting the cooperation of many years between the EU and Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev said that today there is a wide range of issues to discuss, such as bilateral and regional cooperation.
"We see good, positive development in the EU-Azerbaijan partnership," Ilham Aliyev said.
Ilham Aliyev noted that Donald Tusk's visit to Azerbaijan indicates the importance of the Azerbaijan-EU relations.
"We have close political ties and we will develop them in the future," the president said.
