Robin Niblett, Director of Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, answered the questions of The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) in regard with the visit to London by Bako Sahakyan at the invitation of Chatham House in early July this year, who claims himself to be the "president" of the so-called Nagorno Karabakh Republic, The European Azerbaijan Society told Trend.

"Chatham House respects Azerbaijan's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, Niblett said.

In the afore-mentioned letter, Niblett mentions that hosting this insignificant private meeting in Chatham House which is in line with the procedures of this Institute, is by no means of recognition or supporting of the so-called Nagorno Karabakh Republic. Chatham House respects Azerbaijan's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

In his letter addressed to TEAS, Niblett highlights that they are ready to invite the Representative of the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Karabakh to such events in future. At the end of the letter the Director of the Institute emphasized once more that 'we are always ready to make all conditions at Chatham House for holding negotiations with the officials of the Government of Azerbaijan and to invite them to take part in our different events'.
