Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, Elmar Mammadyarov and Rashid Meredov discussed bilateral and regional cooperation, including the cooperation on the Caspian Sea.

Their meeting took place Aug. 28 in the Turkish city of Antalya as part of the trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan, said the press service of Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with development of the dialogue and expansion of cooperation areas between the two countries.

A positive growth tendency in trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan was underscored as well.

The parties also stressed the role of the intergovernmental commission in the development of all-round cooperation between the two countries.

They noted that the Caspian Sea is a factor unifying the two countries, and the ties in the energy and transport sectors are developing incrementally.

The foreign ministers also noted the importance of the trilateral meetings held with the participation of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan, which make an important contribution to the development of cooperation between the three countries in the political, economic, commercial, humanitarian, energy, transport and other areas.
