Today, no one doubts that the European Parliament's resolution on Azerbaijan is full of slander, lie and prejudice, MP Azay Guliyev said at a plenary session of the Azerbaijani parliament Sept. 14.

"Their intention is that Azerbaijan has passed from the policy based on national interests to the policy dictated by them," Guliyev said. "Azerbaijan will never allow this. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly said this in his statements. We will never give up the ongoing policy."

"No matter how many resolutions were adopted by the European Parliament, the policy pursued by the current government, is aimed at the interests of every Azerbaijani citizen," he said.

"Those who prepared and voted for this resolution are people, bribed by the Armenian lobby and diaspora," Guliyev said.

He said that every time the resolutions on Azerbaijan are adopted under the pretext of urgency.

"What is this urgent issue in Azerbaijan? Maybe will they seek the urgent issues in their country? Maybe will they pay attention to the offenses taking place in Europe, a gross violation of human rights, crimes against migrants? If the matter rests in urgent issues, Azerbaijan many times stated that two of our compatriots, Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev are being held hostage by the Armenians. An appeal was made to the European Court of Human Rights in January to consider this issue but there was no reaction. Their aim is for such traitors as Leyla Yunusova and Khadija Ismayilova, who have sold the national interests of Azerbaijan to the foreign intelligence service, to be released. If they protect the rights of journalists, earlier two journalists were shot dead in the midst of a live broadcast in the US, why have not they adopted a resolution in this regard?"
