The European Parliament does not hide its turning into an anti-Azerbaijani center, Ali Ahmadov, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party, said in an interview with the ruling party's website Sept. 16.

"Wise people have such an approach: I believe when you say something, I doubt when you reiterate and I do not believe when you insist," he said. "Look, to put it mildly, the European Parliament has adopted biased resolutions against Azerbaijan several times. Biliousness is observed not only in the content of the resolutions but in the European Parliament's attitude. The European Parliament does not want to hide that it has turned into an anti-Azerbaijani center. In any case, biliousness always causes anger. Today Azerbaijan is angry with the European Parliament."

"No nation will agree with its country to be managed by the rules defined abroad," he said. "The European Parliament is trying to teach the independent countries the rules of conduct. Azerbaijan is not against the idea of cooperation."

"Maybe, Azerbaijan is one of the countries ready for the countries' cooperation most of all," he said. "But any cooperation must be mutual. The European Parliament's frankly biased position in relation to Azerbaijan negates all cooperation opportunities. If we take into account that Azerbaijan has not derived any benefit from the long-term cooperation with the European organizations, especially, it could not get major, fair support in the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, then, therefore, we have nothing to lose by breaking the mentioned cooperation."

"While retaining its biased position towards Azerbaijan, the European Parliament and other European institutions will continue alienate Azerbaijan," he said.

"I do not consider the illegal protection of any groups or individuals and attempts to turn them into the "fifth column" as fair," he said. "The European Parliament must not forget that Azerbaijan is entitled to defend its state and national interests. It does not intend to give this right to someone else. The European Parliament must take into account that while adopting the inappropriate and biased resolutions on Azerbaijan, it compromises itself and its resolutions."
