Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov within the framework of participation in the 70th session of the UN General Assembly on Friday met with the representation of the American Jewish Committee, headed by executive director David Allan Harris, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said Sep 26.
It was noted at the meeting that the visit of the American Jewish Committee in Azerbaijan, as well as exchange of views on such meetings in the framework of international events are a valuable experience.
David Harris said that, as in February this year, it is expected to visit Azerbaijan next year.
The Representatives of the Committee were informed about the negotiations over the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and also about non-constructive position of Armenia in this issue. It was mentioned that the occupation and the aggression against Azerbaijan by Armenia is a threat to security and regional development.
The sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.
