Russian-Azerbaijani interregional forum has strengthened its credibility over the past years and with increasing confidence presents itself as a big, important event in the life of the two countries, said the greeting appeal of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the participants and guests of the forum.

Putin's message was read out by the chief of the Russian Presidential Directorate for Interregional Relations and Cultural Contacts with Foreign Countries Vladimir Chernov.

The sixth Russian-Azerbaijani interregional forum has started its work at the International exhibition center in Yekaterinburg. It was organized by the Russian ministry of economic development and the Azerbaijani ministry of economy and industry.

The forum attracts concerned attention of heads of government, non-governmental organizations, well-known scientists, politicians, cultural figures, representatives of business and expert communities of Russia and Azerbaijan, the appeal said.

It is a popular venue for exchanging views on a broad range of promising ideas and projects relevant for our partnership that promote the prospects of cooperation in industry and agriculture, energy, tourism, as well as in strengthening of humanitarian ties, said the appeal.

Russian president's message also said that Azerbaijan and Russia have every opportunity to increase the interaction potential and give it an additional boost.

The forum will include expert meetings and "round tables", during which the representatives of industry and business circles, heads of enterprises of various economic sectors, heads of administrations of frontier territories will discuss the problems of development of integration relations and intensification of cooperation in the fields of transport, communications, tourism, humanitarian and educational spheres.

Particular attention will be paid to direct contacts of Russian and Azerbaijani districts.
