Governor of Iran's Gilan province Mohammad Ali Najafi will pay a visit to Azerbaijan in November 2015, Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen told reporters.
The ambassador noted that during the meeting, the sides will discuss the issues related to the construction of Rasht-Astara railway that will run through the Gilan province.
Moreover, Pak Ayeen announced that the governor of Iran's East Azerbaijan province Esmaeil Jabbarzadeh will visit Azerbaijan Oct.19.
On the first day of the visit, Jabbarzadeh will be in Nakhchivan and will visit Baku and Ganja on Oct.20 and Oct.21, respectively, according to the diplomat.
Furthermore, touching upon the bilateral ties, Pak Ayeen said that one of the ways of developing the relations between the two countries is the expansion of ties between the border areas.
From this point of view, the East Azerbaijan province has great potential, he added.
The ambassador noted that a meeting of the Iranian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission on economy, trade and humanitarian cooperation will be held in Iran in December.
