If there are people who have broken laws, who haven't justified and perhaps have to some extent betrayed the trust of the president of Azerbaijan, then they too will be severely punished, said Ali Ahmadov, deputy prime minister, deputy chairman - executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party.
Speaking to reporters Nov. 21, he said the appointment and dismissal of ministers falls under the president's competence set by Azerbaijan's Constitution.
"Naturally, the president may at any time dismiss ministers and appoint new ones in their places," he added.
"We are concerned over serious violations revealed in one or another ministry," said Ahmadov, noting that Azerbaijan's president has taken a strong stance on this matter.
