President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on Oct. 12, the Kazakh media reported Sept. 22 citing Natig Aliyev, Azerbaijan's energy minister, as saying.

“We look forward to President Nazarbayev’s visit to Azerbaijan,” the minister said at the 13th meeting of the Kazakh-Azerbaijani intergovernmental economic cooperation commission. “We deeply respect the Kazakh president for his wisdom, attitude towards Azerbaijan.”

The minister said the fraternal relations between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are the two pillars on which all the political, economic and friendly relations between the two independent countries are based.

According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan amounted to $90.7 million, $75 million of which accounted for the imports from Kazakhstan.
