President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Djibouti Mohamed Ali Kamil on Oct. 26.

Ambassador Mohamed Ali Kamil reviewed a guard of honor.

Mohamed Ali Kamil presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

President Ilham Aliyev then had a conversation with the ambassador.

The head of state hailed bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Djibouti. Noting that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with Islamic countries, President Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijan and Djibouti are friendly countries.

The head of state stressed the importance of the fact that the two countries successfully cooperate, especially within international organizations by demonstrating solidarity, adding both countries have always supported each other.

Praising the level of political ties between the two countries, the head of state underlined the necessity of expanding the relations in other areas.

Noting the role of ambassadors in developing the bilateral ties, President Ilham expressed hope that Ambassador Mohamed Ali Kamil will hold discussions with Azerbaijan’s relevant authorities to explore opportunities for economic cooperation.

Ambassador Mohamed Ali Kamil conveyed greetings and best wishes of President of the Republic of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh to the head of state.

Mohamed Ali Kamil noted that he met with the president of his country before coming to Baku.

“Mr. President, I met with Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh before coming to Baku. He personally told me that Azerbaijan is an important country for us,” noted the envoy.

The head of state thanked for the greetings of President Ismail Omar Guelleh, and asked the ambassador to extend his greetings to the Djiboutian president.

President Ilham Aliyev also received Oct. 26 the credentials of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Allama Siddiki.

Ambassador Allama Siddiki reviewed a guard of honor.

Siddiki presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

President Aliyev then had a conversation with the ambassador.

Saying Azerbaijan and Bangladesh enjoy very good political relations, the head of state hailed the importance of the two countries' mutual support within international organizations.

President Ilham Aliyev underlined the two countries' close cooperation within the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and expressed his gratitude to the Bangladeshi government for supporting the establishment of the Contact Group on Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan at the OIC Summit held in Istanbul this year.

Pointing to Azerbaijan-Bangladesh economic cooperation, the head of state hailed lots of opportunities to increase the volume of bilateral trade. He noted the significance of relations between the two countries’ businessmen and pointed to the necessity of exploring opportunities in this field.

President Ilham Aliyev underlined the significance of establishing regular contacts in order to develop cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Allama Siddiki conveyed the greetings and best wishes of President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid to President Ilham Aliyev.

Describing Bangladesh and Azerbaijan as two fraternal countries, Ambassador Allama Siddiki pointed to his country's love to Azerbaijan, its people and culture. He noted that they are aware of Azerbaijan's ancient history, as well as the country's historical role.

Ambassador Allama Siddiki paid tribute to Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev, and highlighted his role in the formation of the national spirit of the people of Azerbaijan.

He noted that the years of Heydar Aliyev’s leadership marked a remarkable period in the history of Azerbaijan.

On the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Bangladeshi ambassador underlined his country’s support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Ambassador Siddiki expressed his confidence that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan will continue to develop, strengthen its geo-strategic position, and play a more important role.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the greetings and best wishes of President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid, and asked the ambassador to extend his greetings to the Bangladeshi head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev also received the credentials of newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa Pule Isaac Malefane on Oct. 26.

Hailing political relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of South Africa, the head of state stressed the necessity of expanding cooperation in economic and trade spheres.

Saying that the Embassy of Azerbaijan operates in the Republic of South Africa for several years, President Ilham Aliyev noted the role of the embassies in defining areas of cooperation between the two countries and creating opportunities for business representatives.

Ambassador Pule Isaac Malefane said that he will spare no efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Yakupitiya Kuruppu Arachchige Rohanajith on Oct. 26.

Ambassador Yakupitiya Kuruppu Arachchige Rohanajith reviewed a guard of honor.

Yakupitiya Kuruppu Arachchige Rohanajith presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

President Ilham Aliyev then had a conversation with the ambassador.

Ambassador Yakupitiya Kuruppu Arachchige Rohanajith extended the best wishes of President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to the head of state.

Pointing to cultural ties between the two countries, the ambassador noted the importance of developing cooperation in this field.

Saying that Azerbaijan and Sri Lanka are friendly countries, President Ilham Aliyev noted that the two countries are cooperating within international organizations.

The head of state underlined the significance of developing the bilateral ties in a number of areas of mutual interest.

Touching upon the economic cooperation, President Ilham Aliyev said increasing the bilateral trade was the primary goal.

The head of state expressed his confidence that the new ambassador’s activity will be successful in terms of the development of Azerbaijan-Sri Lanka ties.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the greetings of Maithripala Sirisena and Ranil Wickremesinghe, and asked the ambassador to extend his greetings to the president and prime minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
