Nebojsa Stefanovic, deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Serbia, will be in Azerbaijan on a three-day visit on Dec. 4-6, Ambassador of Serbia in Baku Nebojsa Rodic told reporters in Baku Nov. 25.

The visit will take place at the invitation of Azerbaijan’s Interior Minister Ramil Usubov.

During the visit, Stefanovic will hold meetings with high ranking officials of Azerbaijan and discuss the prospects of cooperation.

Serbia has already stated its readiness to use Azerbaijan’s transit potential, as well as join the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).

Azerbaijani companies, in turn, may participate in the privatization process, as well as in the infrastructure and municipal projects in Serbia.

Opening of the Ljig-Preljina highway section in Serbia took place in early November. Azerbaijan allocated a loan of 300 million euros to Serbia for the project’s implementation. Total length of the highway section is 40.3 kilometers. Sixty-six bridges and four tunnels have been built along the Ljig-Preljina section.

Azerbaijan’s AzVirt LLC was the project’s main contractor.

The Serbia-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce already operates in Belgrade in order to develop trade and economic relations.
