Azerbaijan plans to hold meetings of the state border demarcation commissions with Russia and Georgia in the first half of 2017, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov told reporters in Baku Dec. 27.

He said that Azerbaijan regularly holds working meetings with representatives of both countries.

“It is a long process and it is necessary to shape a contractual and regulatory framework,” Khalafov said.

Earlier, Azerbaijan and Russia conducted the delimitation of a 390-km section of the state border, and the parliaments of the two countries ratified the treaty on the state border. Currently, the sides need to carry out the work on demarcation, that is, to install the border signs and so on.

Khalafov added that the work on delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Georgian border continues.
