The new strategic partnership agreement will contribute to the deepening of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union, said Malena Mard, head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan.
Mard was addressing a ceremony dedicated to the opening of a twinning project titled “Support for Continuation of Reforms in the State Service System of Azerbaijan”.
She said the negotiations on the new Azerbaijan-EU agreement were started by Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, during his visit to Brussels.
Mard also said 47 twinning projects have been implemented since 2007 as part of the EU program.
The number of these projects will be brought to 50 until late 2017, noted Mard, adding that the current project’s budget is 1.2 million euros and it will last for two years.
