The Pakistan Day was celebrated in the Pakistani Embassy in Baku, Trend’s correspondent reported from the event.

The event brought together representatives of the community of Pakistanis in Baku.

The guests were greeted by Pakistani Ambassador to Azerbaijan Saeed Khan Mohmand, who congratulated them on the Pakistan Day.

Pakistan Day or Pakistan Resolution Day, also Republic Day, is a national holiday in Pakistan to commemorate the Lahore Resolution passed on Mar. 23, 1940 and the adoption of the first constitution of Pakistan during the transition of the Dominion of Pakistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mar. 23, 1956 making Pakistan the world’s first Islamic republic.

The Pakistani ambassador to Azerbaijan noted that Pakistan had to overcome many difficulties on the way to the country’s independence.

The diplomat also spoke about the successful development of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

Saeed Khan Mohmand noted the mutual support of the two countries regarding the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as the Kashmir conflict.

Azerbaijan and Pakistan will continue to support each other in all international issues, the ambassador added.
