Strengthening the fight against corruption is constantly in the spotlight in Azerbaijan, and consistent measures are being taken in this area, Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov said June 6.
He was addressing the 3rd Meeting of Heads of Anti-Corruption Organizations and Ombudsmen of ECO Member States in Baku.
Azerbaijan’s legislation on the fight against corruption complies with international law and is fully upgraded, Garalov noted, adding appropriate institutional mechanisms were also created and their effectiveness was ensured.
“Implementation of three national action plans in the fight against corruption was completed in the country. Now, a national action plan for promotion of open government for 2016-2018 is being successfully implemented,” he said.
