Azerbaijan is the most expected venue for the 33rd meeting of foreign ministers of the Islamic Conference Organization (ICO) in 2006.
The proposal has been made by Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, during the 32nd meeting, now underway in Yemen, according to Tahir Tahirzada, a ministry spokesman.
Addressing the ongoing meeting, Elmar Mammadyarov informed the participants of the current state of peaceful talks over the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Karabakh. On the sidelines of the conference, the minister had talks with counterparts from Afghanistan, Iran, Jordan, Palestine and Oman, and discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as the situation in the region.
