The chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (LDPA), Fuad Aliyev and the leader of the youth movement Yeni Dalgha (new wave), Vugar Alishanbayli met Norwegian ambassador to Azerbaijan, Steinar Gil.

At the meeting, Fuad Aliyev informed the ambassador of the activity of the bloc and noted the necessity of cooperation of all forces in the run up to the upcoming parliamentary elections.

LDPA is a party to the election bloc known as Liberal Azerbaijan.

Aliyev didn’t rule out the possibility of cooperation between Liberal Azerbaijan and Azadlyg, the most powerful opposition bloc noted by two massive rallies last month, as well as Yeni Siyasat (YeS), etc.

He said that the Liberal Azerbaijan has taken the first initiative in this direction, by joining meetings and rallies of Azadlyg and the National Democratic Party. This tendency will be maintained in future,” he said.

Alishanbayali, also presenting his organization, highlighted the activity of the Kingdom of Norway in the field of protection of human rights, and noted the necessity to develop such cooperation.

For his part, ambassador Gil stressed on the primary importance of cooperation among all democratic forces during the upcoming parliamentary elections, and noted he is the supporter of democracy and democratic principles, not the opposition or any other force.
