NEWLY ELECTED IRANIAN PRESIDENT TO REMAIN LOYAL TO COUNTRY’S POLICY IN REGARD TO AZERBAIJAN

The newly elected President of Iran, Mahmud Ahmedinejat will continue Iran’s previous policy towards Azerbaijan, which is based on mutual understanding and confidence, Afshar Suleymani, the Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, told a news conference held in Baku on Monday.

This position was reflected in the President’s pre-elections campaign,
which stressed his loyalty to strengthening bilateral relationships with the neighboring countries, first of all Moslem states.

В"This is the will of our nations and it will be implemented,В" the diplomat underlined. Suleymani said that being a governor of Erdebil Ahmedinejat greatly contributed to the development of the economical relationships, which вЂhe likes too muchвЂ. The diplomat voiced his confidence in upgrade of bilateral bonds during his ruling.

Touching upon the future of the Iranian-Armenian relationships, the Ambassador said that in its foreign policy Iran gave preference to neighboring countries, irrespective whether it is Moslem, or Christian country. The policy will be lead ahead, while the Iranian-Armenian relationships are not directed against the third countries, he underlined.
