Despite the actions on establishing the civil peace in Azerbaijan, some PACE rapporteurs on Azerbaijan turned the issue of political prisoners into the political trade issue. This is the conclusion of the Civil Control Council (CCC) on political prisoners, Trend reports.
The Organization adopted a special appeal on democratic reforms in the country and the double standards of the international organizations. The CCC considers, that the goal of the biased position of Andreas Gross as far as the issue of political prisoners concerned is the non-constructive assistance in establishing the democratic society.
In the organization’s opinion, Andreas Gross in this matter is guided by his personal interests for the support of some political parties in the country. The CCC denies the fact that the organizations representatives fulfilled the order of Gross at the PACE summer session.
The organization stresses its political neutrality and demands from the PACE representatives a careful and attentive appraisal of the processes occurring in the country. В"Otherwise, the CCC will use its right to apply to the international courts”, the appeal reads.
The CCC also alleges, that the lists of political prisoners, made up by the NGOs are in most cases do not coincide with each other, which shows not only their different political positions, but also a personal approach to the notion of a “political prisoner” .
