The Azadlyg (freedom) election bloc expects a mass rally of 50,000 protesters at its upcoming march-meeting on July 10.
The first deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Democrat Party (ADP) Sardar Jalaloghlu told Trend that the event will start at 5:00 pm, with a march from the 20 Yanvar metro station to nearby Galaba (victory) square, where the meeting is planned.
“The meeting committee of the Azadlyg bloc is getting everything thoroughly arranged for the July 10 action, and the march-meeting will take place at a very high level. After this action, the bloc will launch a meeting campaign in regions in mid-July. Beginning from August, the (protest) actions will be resumed in Baku,” Jalaloghlu said.
The Azadlyg bloc unites the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (reformist wing), the Azerbaijan Democrat Party and Mussavat, once the most influential opposition party in the country.
