NGO INTERESTED TO PARTICIPATE IN PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS WITHIN COALITION

В"The non-governmental organizations (NGOs), desiring to nominate their candidacies in the forthcoming parliamentary elections, enter 9 elections blocs and 5 elections coalitions, which means a break in forces.

Sabit Bagirov, the co-founder of the elections bloc �Public leaders’ said that separate participation of NGOs in the parliamentary elections will evolve hindrance for representatives of the 3rd sector in the achievement of the common objectives.

Azay Guliyev, another co-founder of the bloc, said that as compared to political parties NGOs are not so popular in public, so it would not be right to expect any success in the forthcoming parliamentary elections without unifying the efforts.

The speakers to the event noted the importance of establishing a working group for organization of a unified coalition of NGOs. After the discussions the participants in the gathering adopted a statement, which states the serious necessity fir unifying the efforts of the democratic forces for holding free and democratic elections in the country November.

It also underlines that the activities of the national NGOs in this sphere will lead to positive ends.

The statement also underlines the necessity of holding joint monitoring and exit-poll to achieve free, fair and transparent elections in the country, coordination in nomination of the candidates from constituencies and organization of joint support to their electioneering, etc.
