SARDAR DJALALOGLI RELIEVED OF CONVICTION

The first deputy of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA), Sardar Djalalogli has been relieved of conviction. On 8 July 2005, the sitting of the Nasimi district court, chaired by the judge, Taptig Mahmudov, took place, at which a lawsuit of Djalalogli was considered, Trend reports. The ruling to relieve the DPA functionary of the conviction has been given.

Sardar Djalaloglu had been arrested in connection with the events, followed after the 2003 presidential elections and had been sentenced to 4 year and 6 months of imprisonment. By the Decree on pardoning he was released in March this year. He filed a suit to the Nasimi district court on his relief of conviction.
