In May 2005 the consumer market grew as compared to April.

In this period the amount of retail goods turnover comprised 9.4trln manats, or 12.2% up as compared to last year. The commercial services delivered to population comprised 1.8bn manats, or 16.9% up as compared to last year.

Prices

Inflation ratio intensified in May and reached 13.4%, or 2.1% down as compared to April.

All major groups of goods played the key role in cut of inflation ratio. Prices of foodstuff dropped 2.1%.

Thus, in May the foodstuff and service prices grew 0.4% and 4.6 and comprised %2% and 16.2%.

The prices of foodstuff dropped in May.

Wholesale prices in industry fell 7.3% in May and comprised 19.3%.
