Madelene Albright, the head of the Board of Directors of the U.S. National Democracy Institute (NDI), former U.S. Secretary of State, will have rich visit program in Azerbaijan, Ali Hassanov, the head of the Public-Political Department of the PresidentвЂ™s Apparat, told journalists on Monday.
According to Hassanov, during the two-day visit Albright will hold a
meeting with the heads of several media units and non-governmental organizations, as well as political parties. В"The NDI is functioning in several directions in Azerbaijan, including assistance in the democratization of Azerbaijan.
The issue of establishment of civil society in Azerbaijan, political pluralism, improvement of elections practice and assistance in the establishment of a dialogue among the political parties will be on focus. Albright also plans to hold exchange of opinions in connection with appraisal of work done by the National Democratic Institute in Azerbaijan and perspective plans,В" Hassanov informed.
He also noted that Azerbaijani President is scheduled to give a reception to plans Albright.
