The mini-book’s “Olympic Games вЂ"2004” presentation ceremony took place today at the Museum of the miniature books in Icheri Sheher. The event has been attended by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation President, Mehriban Aliyeva, the Minister of Youth, Sport and Tourism, Abulfaz Garayev, vice-president of the National Olympic Committee, Chingiz Husseynzade, deputy executive secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), MP Bahar Muradova, president of the Handball Federation, chairman of the State Committee on Securities, Heydar Babayev, officials from sport federations and the diplomatic corps in Baku, Trend reports.
The Museum’s director, Zarifa Salahova noted, that the mini-book, compiled in the Azerbaijani and English languages, shows the Azerbaijani sportsmen participation in the Olympic Games in Athens.
According to her, the book consists of photographs, depicting the entire process of the Azerbaijani sportsmen participation in the Olympic Games starting with their send-off ceremony on 4 August 2004, their partaking in the Olympic Games, awarding of medals, participation of Ilham and Mehriban Aliyevs in the days of the “Azerbaijani culture” and the reception of the sportsmen by the head of the state.
Further, Mehriban Aliyeva got familiar with the exhibits of the Museum.
